How can you prepare yourself for the first time semi permanent makeup appointment? Do you need to know something before? Yes, definitely read this! 😉
The first time you get semi permanent makeup, it is recommended that you go to a professional. It is also recommended that this is a consultation appointment. This way you can discuss your expectations and the artist can explain their process and what they will be doing before taking any payment. There are some things you should know before your first time semi permanent makeup appointment. This way, you will feel more comfortable and relaxed during the session. First of all, you need to know that it’s not a painless procedure. This is not like getting a tattoo or a piercing done. Semi permanent makeup is more like artwork on your skin, so it will hurt a little bit while the technician works on it. The first time semi permanent makeup appointment is very important because it’s the first time you get to know what a professional makeup artist can do for you. It’s not just about being able to apply the right colors or shapes on your face; it’s also about understanding what kind of result they can achieve with their skills and techniques. The first time you get a semi permanent makeup appointment, it’s really important that you’re as prepared as possible. You want to make sure that everything is going to go well and that your artist knows exactly what they’re doing! Here are some tips on how to prepare yourself for your first semi permanent makeup appointment:
- book min 2 hrs for the procedure plus an extra 30 min just in case, if you need extra explanation during the consultation,
- do NOT drink coffee or any energy drink on the day of the appointment- this can actually make your procedure more painful and we don’t want this, right? 😉
- If you have done your research and know exactly what kind of procedure you want, bring your reference photos with you. This way, the artist can double-check that they are going to do everything right!
- drink plenty of water before the appointment. this will help your skin to look fresh and healthy.
- take a shower before you go to the appointment, this will make your skin soft and ready for the procedure- but don’t use any soap or other products on your face, just water!
- have a good night sleep, eat well and drink plenty of water for your procedure.
- do NOT schedule your medical treatments like botox or fillers in less than 6 weeks time frame
- if you have acne, please get rid of it before the appointment. this will make the treatment look much better and more natural. don’t use any other products on your skin except water (no soap or lotions) at least one week before your appointment. you should be able to wear makeup on the day of your treatment.
- don’t use any scrubbing products on your face or body, just water!
- avoid sun exposure before and after treatment.
- put away all creams with retinol (please check in the back of the cream ingredients) min 4 weeks before the appointment. Retinol is an ingredient which can cause an allergic reaction when injected into your skin.
- don’t use any products with acids (like glycolic or salicylic acid) 5-7 days before your appointment, as these can sting and irritate the skin.
- avoid using any products with fragrances. don’t have any waxing or threading done before your appointment, as these can irritate your skin and cause bruising. you should be able to wear makeup on the day of your treatment. try to avoid using products with alcohol, which can dry out your skin. don’t use any products with heavy fragrances before or after treatment.
- You may need some time off from work, but this will depend on where you live and how often you get treatments done. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the clinic. If you are prone to keloids or hypertrophic scars and/or have a history of them, we will discuss this with you at your consultation.
- you should also avoid any products that are high in alcohol, as this can dry out your skin and cause irritation. don’t take any blood thinning medication the day before or after treatment.
I know this sounds like a lot of information before just 1 procedure but is so much depend of you how your skin will absorb pigment and how nicely will heal.
