What type of semi-permanent makeup eyebrows will suit you?

We have so many different names of semi-permanent makeup eyebrows available on the market that actually is hard to choose. Is even harder when we haven’t done this before and we google it, search info and after 30 min feel brainwashed- all those names, all descriptions… and what we actually want?

So, most of my clients wish to have natural look, make the nicer shape and underline the arch of the eyebrows. The only thing is we all have different kinds of skin- oily, dry, combination and also different colours. Considering all conditions the eyebrows should match when we have occasional makeup and when we totally saute.

ok, lets put down all available possibilities to make semi permanent makeup eyebrows:

• microblading- is the technique done manually by an SPMU Artist when the microneedle is adjusted into the pen and makes micro cuts all over the eyebrows giving the look of hair strokes. What is the advantage of it? Short lasting- approx 6-10 months, so if you change your mind you can just get rid of them after summer. Looks natural because the hair strokes are between natural eyebrows hairs. Disadvantage: if you like this effect you need to go for a touch-up every 10 months- 1 year in order to keep pigment in the skin. The not well-experienced SPMU Artist can cut your skin too deep as is manual work and you can have scars which can be visible after a while. If you have oily skin the effect can be less than 6 months and you can feel like you spent money for nothing.

• ombre/ powder brows- is the technique of long-lasting effect, when SPMU Artist is using the machie to input pigment into the skin. Most of the time gives effect for 2-3 years, depending on the skin conditions and aftercare. Advantages: they last long- up to 3 years so the cost of doing them divided by 3 years is actually small. This technique is great to fill in the gaps in the eyebrows and also gives the possibility to make darker colour while touch up (after 5 weeks from 1st pigmentation procedure) if the primary colour is not dark enough. Disadvantages: warm subtone of the skin after a while can give reddish color and for cold subtone can give bluish color- need to be corrected.

• combo brows- a combination technique of both: microblading and powder brows. In my opinion one of the most famous techniques in the market especially for all women who cannot decide between hair strokes and colour all of their eyebrows.

• hair strokes ( nano brows, W-brows, natural hair bloom ect..) – hair strokes technique done by machine – totally different than microblading. Advantages: long-lasting effect- up to 3 years, more natural than microblading and will not occure scars- very soft pigmentation. Disadvantages: does not last long on oily skin, is hairy effect- which for some of women can look to bushy.

As you can see all of the techniques available on the market can have advantages and disadvantages and you are the one who should decide what is best for you. Best solution? Schedule a consultation before and ask SPMU Artist to watch your skin and give best opinion in order to receive the best result.

Please remember that every service it should be done by a professional- the same as a dentist- you need to trust this person that will make a great job. Don’t come with a photo of your friends who does it already and have totally different look than you. The eyebrows are very individual, need you to match your face, not your friends. This is why I always compare to dentist service haha. This need to be done by someone who has the experience, you trust this person and listen to the aftercare, otherwise don;t even think about getting them.
